Description of research
My research focuses on three main areas:
- Modeling and simulation of dynamic socio-ecological systems (also called coupled human-nature systems) at the individual level;
- Characterization and modeling of decision-making in the context of interactions between human activities and ecosystems;
- Participatory management process support through the co-development of consultation support systems (eg serious games) and decision support systems (eg multi-agent models);
I am also interested in using artificial intelligence to extract information on biological and natural systems to improve management or conservation.

Currently managing the following projects:
- A scientific program on the reduction of underwater noise in the critical habitat of the St. Lawrence beluga (MFFP funding, $ 2.1M 2018-2023);
- A project to determine the mental models of stakeholders in a multipurpose forest management project in the context of climate change (SSHRC funding, $ 47K, 2018-2020);
- A project to characterize navigation activities in fish habitat in the St. Lawrence (MFFP funding, $ 20K, 2019).
Actively involved in two other projects:
- Development of a serious game platform to promote the multi-use development of the CTEL (Laurentides) forest territory in the context of climate change;
- Co-construction of conditions favouring the social acceptability of an integrated development of the natural environment of the linear park Le P’tit Train du Nord.
